Tutors - Teaching in China
- IT Tutor x 4 (Fixed-Term Contract) – Teaching in China
Job Type: Full-time, Fixed-Term (with potential for extension)
Overview
WelTec is looking for experienced IT tutors for fixed-term offshore teaching roles in China. These roles involve delivering undergraduate courses from the Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) programme to international student cohorts.
About the role
Teaching is delivered
in block mode, usually over several weeks. Depending on your expertise and
availability, you may be asked to teach one or more courses within a teaching
block. Appointments are expected to commence from late February 2026.
You will teach undergraduate IT courses across different year levels of the BIT programme. Subject areas may include:
- Mobile application development
- Intelligent systems and applied computing
- Computer networking
- Data science fundamentals
- Digital ethics and professional practice
- Project management and systems analysis
Courses are typically co-taught, with two tutors working together to support large student cohorts.
Key Responsibilities
You will deliver lectures, tutorials, and lab sessions using WelTec-approved materials. You will adapt delivery where needed for the offshore context, while maintaining academic standards. You will support and guide students, assess their work in line with programme requirements, and provide clear, timely feedback to help students succeed.
Requirements
- A master’s
qualification in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Tertiary teaching or tutoring experience, preferably in a polytechnic or
university
- Availability to travel to China for the teaching period
International teaching experience is an advantage but not required.
