Are you an experienced and passionate Cookery Tutor or Chef with a desire to educate a new generation of learners in professional cookery?

About the role | Te kaupapa

There is a growing demand for trained chefs and to meet this demand WelTec offers training for people to become fully qualified cooks and chefs as well as training for apprentices working in the hospitality industry.

We are seeking to appoint a Cookery Tutor with excellent interpersonal skills and strong customer service orientation who is keen to develop as an educator and share their industry expertise with our ākonga (students).

Key Accountabilities | (Ngā takohanga matua)

  • Course delivery, assessment and moderation
  • Management of resources relating to the learning processes
  • Regular progress reporting
  • Working as a member of an academic team

Experience and Qualifications

You will have at least 7 years’ experience as a chef and relevant qualifications.

You will have:

-Established contacts within the hospitality industry

- Planning and organisational ability

- The ability to relate to and engage with young people

While preference will be given to applicants holding a tertiary teaching qualification, applications from experienced chefs with the desire to undertake study towards a teaching qualification will be considered.
