As a result of restructure Whitireia and WelTec is looking to recruit 0.8 FTE (30 hours) Kaiako Academic Success.

The Academic Success Team is seeking to appoint 0.8 FTE Kaiako Academic Success who will report to the Programme Manager Academic Success.

The purpose of these roles is to enable academic capability development for ākonga. This includes supporting ākonga with innovative solutions that enable skill development and academic confidence via individual and group sessions, in-person and via technology, and the delivery of modules designed to build essential academic skills before programmes start.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful applicant will have:

•  Highly effective organisational skills, including strong ability to prioritise, problem-solve, show initiative and plan.
•  Will be adaptable and flexible, with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
•  Highly developed customer service skills, with the ability to relate to a broad cross section of people.
•  The ability to cope with multiple competing demands 

There will be an expectation that the successful applicant will be physically on one of our campuses for the majority of their working time. This role involves delivering short courses/modules from November to February. To support ākonga during this time, leave should be planned outside of this time.
